Operation: The impulse test system operation under a control system witch chargers the impulse generat charging unit. The charging time and charging voltage can be selected during this process the stage in the impulse generator are connected in parallel via the charging resistors. Once the selected charging voltage has been reached, a trigger pulse ignite the first spark gap of the impulse generator. The resulting over voltage ignite the successive stages. After all the spark gaps have been fired, all the stages are connected in series thus multiplying the charging voltage. |
